Colchester boss Aidy Boothroyd has confirmed he will not be signing veteran midfielder Nolberto Solano.
The former Newcastle star trained with the Us over the Christmas and new year period but has now been linked with a return to St James' Park.
"Nobby won't be staying with us," said Boothroyd.
"We had discussions over the possibility of him joining the club but there won't be a deal signed on this occasion."
