Stockport defender Gareth Owen insists he will make his loan spell at Port Vale a permanent transfer next month.
The centre-back has verbally agreed to sign a two-and-a-half-year deal with Vale when his loan spell comes to an end and insists that he will not go back on his word.
He told the Sentinel: "I don't like breaking my word. I spoke to the Vale chairman Bill Bratt and a deal has been agreed in principle.
"That was one of the main reasons for me joining on loan, because the club were very good to me in putting an offer on the table.
"So when my loan spell runs out, on January 5, everything should be in place as long as that deal is still in place. If it is, I don't see any problems.
"All that matters to me is playing week in, week out. There's not a lot of difference between League One and Two, so that isn't a big factor."
