Oxford have secured the transfer of midfielder Peter Leven from MK Dons on a two-year deal.

The former Chesterfield, Kilmarnock and Rangers man will link up with the touring squad who fly out to the United States on Monday. The 27-year-old Scot made 45 appearances for the Dons last season and netted eight goals.

"This is a fantastic addition to the squad," said manager Chris Wilder. "He is a quality player who has played at the top of League One. We are delighted to acquire his signature."

Leven expressed his delight at joining the club, adding: "I'm really excited by the move and can't wait to meet all the lads.

"Oxford are a big club and an ambitious one. I'm really looking forward to the new challenge."
