Charlton boss Phil Parkinson was left disappointed with a "minority" of fans who vented their frustration during the 2-2 draw against struggling Gillingham.
Frazer Richardson's low shot squirmed underneath Alan Julian before the Gills hit back with goals from Andy Barcham and Dennis Oli before the break. The home side had left the pitch to a chorus of boos at half-time but responded well in the second half and drew level through David Mooney's 60th-minute leveller.
Parkinson said: "I think what the supporters need to understand is that I've pieced this team together with absolutely no money and I've always been in a position of uncertainty even regarding the amount of wages I can offer to players, due to financial constraints at the club."
He added: "The majority of supporters have been great but a minority (against Gillingham) need to get up (on Sunday) morning, look at where we are in the league table and at how much money Huddersfield, Colchester and Millwall have spent.
"We've pieced this team together with loan players and free transfers and we're still fighting for second spot."
