Yeovil Town suffered a poor start to the campaign, but they have enjoyed a welcome upturn in form in the last seven days with last Saturday’s 2-0 home victory against Brentford followed up by a hard-earned point at Millwall in midweek.

That draw at the New Den lifted the Glovers to 17th in the table, and manager Terry Skiverton will be hoping to keep the recent run going when his side travel to Oldham tomorrow.

Givemefootball’s Mark Shail spoke exclusively to experienced winger Scott Murray ahead of the trip north to Boundary Park.

Q: What do you make of the club’s start to the season?

A: It’s been tough but you have to remember there are a lot of clubs in this league that have much bigger budgets than us. It’s going to be a hard season but there’s a good bunch of lads here, who stick together, and I’m sure that will help get us through.

Q: But a couple of good results in the last two games though?

A: Yeah, we needed those points because we hadn’t won since the first game of the season. We played very well to beat Brentford last week and picked up a point at Millwall in midweek. In fact we hit the post and the bar at Millwall so with a bit more luck we could have taken all three points.

Q: You appear to have spent most of the games on the bench so far this season?

A: Yes, it’s just a question of waiting for my chance and taking it when I get it. But the lads have played very well in the last few matches to it’s difficult to see the manager changing things around too much.

I suppose you can’t complain about remaining on the bench when the side is doing well, but I’m sure my chance will come – I just have to be patient.

Q: What are your thoughts ahead of the game tomorrow?

A: It’s going to be a difficult match because Oldham is never an easy place to go. Like us, they have had a difficult start to the season but they’ve also picked things up recently. But we’ve got to build on our last two results and make sure that we come away with something from the game.

Q: Looking to the future, are you interested into moving into coaching?

A: At the moment I am doing my UEFA ‘B’ licence and the final assessment for that should be in January or February. There is a possibility for me to do some part-time coaching with the Under 16s at my previous club Bristol City, so that is something I’m excited about.
