Craig Disley has earmarked his old club Bristol Rovers as a team to watch next season, and insists they are heading towards the Championship.

The midfielder was released by the Pirates and will ply his trade with Shrewsbury next season, but admits he is impressed with the side he left behind.

Disley told the Bristol Evening Post: "I loved my time at Bristol Rovers. It is not often you spend so long at one place and it was disappointing to have to leave.

"But things like that happen in football and you have to move. It would have been nice to have stayed but that is football and I have to look to the future with Shrewsbury Town now.

"I think Rovers are moulding a side for the Championship. They haven't signed too many players yet, but they will be pushing hard for the play-offs or automatic promotion."
