Hartlepool have sacked manager Mick Wadsworth following a run of seven successive home defeats.

Wadsworth, 61, led Pools on a nine-match unbeaten run from the start of the season, but they have won only two of their last 10 league encounters. First-team coach Micky Barron will take charge of the side at Brentford on Saturday.

A club statement read: "It is with regret that Hartlepool United have relieved Mick Wadsworth of his duties as head coach with immediate effect."
