Leeds manager Simon Grayson has decided not to hand trialist defender Darren Powell a contract at Elland Road.
The 33-year-old centre-half, released by Derby, has been training at Thorp Arch and played in two recent reserve-team matches against Sheffield United and Hartlepool.
Grayson said: "We looked closely at Darren. He trained well and had the experience side of it, but we need someone who could step straight up if needed and Darren may be a couple of weeks away."
