Southend defender Sean Morrison believed his debut dismissal against Yeovil was harsh.

The 18-year-old, on loan from Swindon, brought down striker John Obika on 31 minutes and was shown red by referee Dave Phillips.

Morrison told the club's official website: "He told me four times that it was going to be a booking but then got out a red card. I think the referee buckled under the pressure their players put on him."

He added : "If the game had been played at Southend I really don't think I would have been sent off."

Morrison's sending-off means he will miss Friday night's league match against MK Dons.
