Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill has confirmed the head injury suffered by defender Paul Reid in Saturday's 2-1 win over Stevenage is not as bad as first feared.
The 29-year-old was substituted in the second-half of the game amid fears he had suffered a fractured cheekbone in addition to a broken nose, but subsequent tests have since delivered good news.
"Paul is going back to the specialist on Wednesday and we are not expecting anything negative," Knill told the club's official website.
"To be honest we were told that he could have trained on Tuesday, but as a management team we decided to leave it.
"We are fully expecting him to be okay to train on Thursday.
"At first we were worried that he had fractured his cheekbone, which would have kept him out for a while. However, it turns out that wasn't the case.
"He had his nose reset on Saturday evening, and barring any complications, he should be available for the weekend."
