Derby midfielder Robbie Savage has turned down a loan move to League One outfit Brighton.

The 33-year-old has been made available for loan by boss Paul Jewell and Seagulls manager Micky Adams made an approach on Thursday for Savage.

However, the former Welsh international who played under Adams at Leicester City, has rejected a move to the south coast and is thought to be talking to several other clubs.

Adams was also unsuccessful in a bid to bring Scotland international Gary Teale on loan to the Withdean.

Teale, who has already been on loan at Barnsley this season, turned down the move after Jewell had given it the go-ahead.

"I enquired about Gary Teale but he rejected the offer but that was for more personal reasons than footballing ones," Adams told the club's official website.
