Brighton manager Russell Slade believes one more win will be enough to see the Seagulls avoid the drop after a crunch win at Bristol Rovers propelled them out of the drop zone.
Lloyd Owusu and
Calvin Andrew overturned an early Rickie Lambert strike to lift
Brighton into 19th place and had Slade dreaming of a relaxed final day of the campaign.
Slade said: "A few weeks ago I would have happily accepted it if someone suggested we could save ourselves in our final game.
"Now I hope we can spare ourselves that. We have a tough match at Huddersfield coming up, but if we could win it the pressure would be off at home to
Stockport.
"The players have shown tremendous fighting spirit to win four out of five games when it matters most and that was evident again.
"We lost Dean Cox with what could be a cartilage problem, but Calvin has come on and scored a magnificent header to win us the game.”
At the business end of League One, and Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins warned his side to tighten up or risk missing out on the play-offs.
The Iron twice threw away the lead at
Northampton in a pulsating 3-3 draw and are now one point behind sixth placed Tranmere but still have an all-important game in hand.
"We expected to get three points here but only got one, despite scoring three goals away from home," said Adkins.
"We're making simple mistakes and getting punished for them. I'm not going to pick out individuals; we're in this together as a team.
"Northampton threw everything at us, and we just couldn't hold out. But we've got three games left, we've got to stay strong, have a better level of consistency and go and do it.
"But we can't afford to ship the amount of goals that we've conceded lately.”
