Leicester assistant manager Craig Shakespeare has revealed that his players will get a chance of proving themselves in the Championship after winning promotion.

Goals from Bruno Berner, Lloyd Dyer and Matty Fryatt saw the Foxes beat Crewe 3-0 on the final day of the season after securing promotion from League One as champions a fortnight ago.

Shakespeare said: "We were excellent. We were always going to play a strong line-up and the lads always want to put on a good performance."

He added: "We've coped with League One very well and we have learnt a lot from being here.

"We've been planning for next season for a while and we plan to add some more quality.

"We will add to the squad as we want competition for places but these players have earned the right to play in the Championship."
