Manager Russell Slade has dismissed speculation linking striker Glenn Murray with a move away from Brighton.
With competition for places tight up front, it was suggested Murray could be allowed to leave for the right price, but Slade is aiming to retain the services of the 25-year-old, who joined from Rochdale for £300,000 in January 2008.
"Glenn has the potential to be one of our top players and I want him to stay at the club," Slade told the Argus.
"If at all possible we need to be building the team around players like Glenn so in an ideal world he will still be here next season."
Injury has limited Murray, who has scored 19 goals in 44 games for Albion, to just two appearances since Slade was installed as boss.
