Northampton's Coca-Cola League One clash with Colchester was postponed on Tuesday due to heavy snow.

Snow had been falling at Sixfields from around 4pm and a pitch inspection was held at 6.30pm with the referee deciding the pitch was unplayable.

A new date for the fixture has yet to be announced.

Walsall's League One home game with Swindon was also called off, with the decision coming an hour before the intended kick-off.

Referee Carl Boyeson found the pitch covered in a thin layer of snow, and decided the surface would be too dangerous to play on.

The Swindon team and many of their travelling fans had arrived at the Banks's Stadium.
