Morgan Schneiderlin is out of Southampton's home game against Oldham.
The midfielder's season has been brought to a premature end after he was sent off during Saturday's 1-0 win at Yeovil.
Schneiderlin's second red card of the campaign means he starts a four-match ban which will rule him out of Saints' run-in.
Lee Barnard is pushing to start after climbing off the bench to hit the late winner at Huish Park, and he could replace Schneiderlin in the line-up if boss Alan Pardew opts for a switch in formation.
Defender Radhi Jaidi was among the substitutes at the weekend after a hamstring injury and should be involved again.
Full-backs Wayne Thomas (calf) and Graeme Murty (ankle) are still missing.
Alex Marrow has been passed fit for Oldham as manager Dave Penney takes to same 20-man squad to St Mary`s as he had at his disposal for Saturday`s 2-1 win at Carlisle.
Marrow was taken off after just 38 minutes at Brunton Park having been on the end of a bad two-footed challenge to his lower leg.
But the severity of his injuries are not as bad as first feared and the on-loan Blackburn man is included in the Latics` travelling party to the south coast.
Kelvin Lomax and Joe Colbeck were the two players who failed to gain a place in Penney`s matchday 18 at the weekend and they will be hoping for involvement this time around.
