Dagenham have completed the signing of Danny Spiller on a deal until the new year.

The former Millwall and Gillingham midfielder had been training with the club for the last week and goes straight into the squad to face Chesterfield on Saturday.

"Danny has proved an outstanding player in training with us," said manager John Still.

"He was mis-diagnosed on an injury which has caused him to be out of the game for a while but that's one injury and he's proved himself to be really fit since he's been here. He lacks matches but he's fit in all other aspects.

"He was wanted by West Ham a few years ago and he's at least a Championship player so we're really fortunate to sign him.

"I've taken him until January and we'll look at where we go then."
