Chesterfield have continued a busy week of transfer activity by completing the signing of striker Craig Westcarr from League One rivals Notts County.

Westcarr struck 12 league goals for the Magpies last season and arrives at the B2net Stadium for an undisclosed fee.

The former Kettering man made over 100 appearances for County but leaves Meadow Lane having only been a bit-part player this campaign, despite scoring in the recent League Cup clash with city rivals Nottingham Forest.

Earlier on Friday the Spireites confirmed the signing of Bristol City midfielder Lee Johnson on a three-month loan deal.

Manager John Sheridan has been keen to bolster his squad after a tough start to life in League One and Westcarr and Johnson are added to the loan signing of Jonathan Grounds from Middlesbrough on Thursday.
