Peterborough moved up to third but failed to close the gap on MK Dons at the top of Coca-Cola League One as they were held to a 0-0 draw at London Road.

The second-placed Dons moved on to 51 points, six behind leaders Leicester and four ahead of Posh - who are now ahead of Millwall on goal difference.

James Walker netted in the sixth minute of injury time to earn out-of-form Southend a 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient, who had led through Adam Boyd's 11th-minute effort.

In League Two, Exeter moved above Dagenham and Redbridge into sixth place after a 2-1 victory at Victoria Road.

Craig McAllister opened the scoring for the visitors in the 27th minute as striker was fouled by Magnus Okuonghae but saw his penalty parried by Tony Roberts, before converting the rebound.

Ben Strevens drew the Daggers level on the stroke of half-time, but McAllister had the final say with a crisp half-volley (47).

The defeat saw Dagenham drop out of the play-off places, as Gillingham came from behind to beat Port Vale 3-1 and climb into seventh.

Marc Richards' long-range drive put the hosts ahead (28), but Dennis Oli responded in similar fashion (49) before Adam Miller's lob put the Gills ahead in the 69th minute. The game was settled three minutes later when Simeon Jackson netted from the spot after a handball by Anthony Griffith.

Play-off chasers Aldershot were held to a 2-2 draw by Notts County. Ben Harding opened the scoring with a 25-yarder (6), before Jamie Clapham equalised from a free-kick (65).

Scott Davies thought he had won it for the Shots (76), but less than two minutes later Matt Hamshaw drew County level for the second time.
