Notts County have signed defender Jude Stirling on a two-year contract.

The 28-year-old, who has just been released by MK Dons, is reunited with County manager Martin Allen who took him to Barnet on loan last season.

Allen said: "He has been brought here as a squad player, he's great in the dressing room with all the players."

He added: "He's very dangerous in the final third and he's very helpful in our own defensive third.

"He's a good player and a good man to have in our squad."

Allen also revealed on Thursday that the Magpies had made an approach for free agent Marlon Harewood.
