Lee Clark admits patience will be a virtue as he looks to assemble a squad capable of promotion from League One this summer.

The Huddersfield Town boss looks set to add Tranmere midfielder Antony Kay, but Clark knows he will have to play a waiting game ahead of the transfer window opening again on July 1st.

He told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner: “I’ve been busy talking to players, agents and clubs, and I’m confident progress is being made.

“Sometimes you have to be patient because at this time in the season, it’s usual for a number of clubs to be in the hunt for the same players, certainly ones of the quality we’re interested in.

“And a number of those I’m looking at are currently playing in higher divisions, so it can be a case of selling the club to them.

“We all know the attributes of this club, but sometimes you have to spread the word. Players can take some persuasion to drop down in level, so it’s my job to make sure they see the vision I have for this club.

“I believe that when they see where we’re intending to go and how we’re planning to get there, they’ll want to be a part of things.”
