Two goals from Sean Thornton ensured Leyton Orient ended a run of seven games without a win with a 2-0 victory over Walsall.

Orient, who had not scored in their previous three games, were unable to find a breakthrough in the opening 45 minutes.

Their best effort came from a 28th-minute header from striker Scott McGleish which Walsall's Josh O'Keefe hooked over his own bar for a corner.

The Saddlers had posed an earlier threat when home keeper Glenn Morris saved at the feet of striker Troy Deeney following a swift break down the right.

Orient broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute when Aaron Doran capitalised on Walsall's defensive uncertainty and crossed for Thornton to slide home.

The hosts added a second nine minutes later when Jonathan Tehoue and McGleish worked the ball in from the right and Thornton scored with a low shot.

Walsall never looked like finding a way back into the game and failed to muster an attempt on goal after the interval.
