Cleveland Taylor's future at Carlisle is up in the air with the winger due to return for pre-season training next week.

Taylor has issued a formal transfer request stating personal reasons for a potential move but, as yet, he remains at Brunton Park.

Manager Greg Abbott told the club's official website: "We've spoken to two or three about Cleveland, in terms of possibly exchanging him for another player, but things are tight around the league at the moment. There has not been an offer for him, so it's been quiet on that front."

He added: "If he does come back to us then I would advise him to come out and tell the fans what it is that has been upsetting him.

"I feel that if he lets everyone know what it is that has affected him then it can only help matters."
