Colchester United have extended the loan stay of Reading winger Michail Antonio by a another month.

The 21-year-old has made seven appearances for the U’s since joining on a month-long in August.

“I’ve played games and I’m enjoying it,” he told BBC Essex.

“The boys are good, the gaffer is treating me right. Hopefully they feel I’m doing alright for the team.”

Antonio will be available for Saturday’s trip to second place Sheffield United, which manager John Ward says he is looking forward to.

“It’s a really good test for us, I like these games, it’s little old Colchester going into the lion’s den and seeing what you can come out with,” he said.

“We’ve been alright with that kind of challenge sometimes against these big boys.”

“If we were to win the game then I guess a lot of people in the football world wouldn’t be surprised, but if we were able to win the game people will say ‘crikey, that’s a good result for Colchester."
