Colchester have rejected Jamie Cureton´s transfer request and will attempt to persuade the striker to sign a new contract at the club.Cureton, who has a year left on his current contract, handed in a transfer request on Tuesday, but manager Geraint Williams is hopeful of keeping the former Reading and Norwich forward."We are disappointed that Jamie feels he is in a position whereby he has had to hand in a transfer request," Williams told www.cu-fc.com. "His success last season put him in the limelight, but we are looking forward to building for the future of Colchester United and we are keen for Jamie to be a part of that."
