Manager John Toshack was delighted after Crewe´s David Vaughan almost upstaged Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs on Wednesday night. The 22-year-old midfielder, won only his fifth full cap as Wales beat Azerbaijan 2-0 in their final World Cup group six qualifier in Cardiff, and turned in a storming display in an advanced attacking role. Vaughan produced runs and crosses all night to disrupt the visitors, even if it was skipper Ryan Giggs who bagged the glory with a fine double to make it three goals in two games.Toshack, after praising Giggs´ contribution, turned his attention to Vaughan, saying: "It´s easy to praise Ryan, he is always such an influential player and he scored two special goals. But I was delighted for David Vaughan. He is a clever, skilful player and he rarely gives the ball away. I asked him to play in an advanced role and he was outstanding all night."
