Walsall manager Chris Hutchings has brought an end to the stir caused by Troy Deeney's outburst following last weekend's dismal 2-0 defeat at Leyton Orient.

Local lad Deeney labelled the performance "embarrassing" and went on to question the desire of some of his team-mates and their chances of earning new contracts in the summer. As the row rumbled on, assistant manager Martin O'Connor subsequently criticised the striker for the unprofessional way in which he aired his views in public.

"It's finished with, we're disappointed but emotions run high and you say things you'd like to keep in the dressing room," said the Saddlers boss who does not want the incident to snowball, with Deeney unlikely to face any form of punishment. "Troy has aired his views but we've drawn a line under it now."
