Micky Adams has openly admitted his interest in taking over as Port Vale's new manager.

The 47-year-old has been out of work since leaving Brighton in January and was a late applicant for the vacant position at the League Two club.

"I would like the job and I think we could be good for each other," he told the Sentinel. "I've achieved two promotions out of this division, and although I haven't worked there for a while, it's not a challenge that would faze me."
