Chairman Paul Baker has vowed Cheltenham`s board will look to cause a minimum amount of disruption while they investigate the allegations surrounding Martin Allen and has called for supporters to unite.
Baker and his senior colleagues have put Allen on gardening leave while they look into an alleged nightclub incident which Gloucestershire Police have also become involved in.
With assistant John Schofield in charge of first-team affairs for Saturday`s trip to Port Vale, Baker told Cheltenham`s official website: "I cannot comment on matters relating to Martin except to say that the board will try to ensure the minimum disruption for the players and staff, allowing them to concentrate on the important job of trying to win football matches."
The Robins manager denies the allegations directed at him and it remains unclear how long it will take before the matter is resolved and the League Two club come to a decision over his future.
Baker added: "Without question it has been a difficult few days but there is no more important time than now to get behind the club that we all support - our club.
"This club will always be bigger than any one individual - be it a player, a manager or a chairman. If you are a supporter of Cheltenham Town we need you now to show your support for the club."
