Crewe right-back John Brayford has declared himself fit to face Northampton at the weekend.

The 21-year-old suffered a shoulder injury in the 2-1 defeat against Morecambe and was expected to be out for a fortnight.

Boss Dario Gradi told the club's official website: "John did fall on his shoulder strangely, but I don't think it will be any more serious then we first thought so we're not too worried."

He added: "There is no indication that it is a bad injury, or that he dislocated anything and he came in on Monday saying he felt much better.

"He has been warned that if he plays and lands on it again he could cause further damage."
