Rob Burch has thanked Lincoln manager Peter Jackson for saving his career and has backed him to take the club into League One next season.
The 25-year-old had spent the majority of his career as a number two or three at Tottenham and Sheffield Wednesday before moving to Sincil Bank last summer, but has firmly established himself as the Imps' first choice stopper following a fine debut season.
"Coming to somewhere like Lincoln was what I needed for a long time," Burch told PA Sport. "I am thankful to the gaffer for putting his trust in me."
He added: "I've had time at bigger clubs like Wednesday but I was never going to get ahead of some of the other keepers there. I've wanted to do it for years because I needed to play games. I'm only 25 but time was ticking.
"I've passed 50 games in my career this season and that was something I wanted to do.
"He's a great man manager and one of the main reasons I came here. He's better than League Two.
"I'm sure he'll move out of League Two soon and he's good enough to do it with Lincoln."
