Dave Brammer and Eddie Howe have different targets
Dave Brammer has not been offered a new contract by manager-less Port Vale but expects to be in the Football League next year.
The 34-year-old arrived on loan from Millwall back in October before later completing a permanent deal until the end of the season but his campaign was blighted by knee injuries and he was restricted to just 14 appearances in total.
However, despite being a thirty-something, Brammer is confident that once he is fully fit he will be back firing on all cylinders next term.
"I'm speaking to a few people about future opportunities," he told The Sentinel.
"When you don't get a full season behind you because of injuries it can be difficult. But I've spoken to surgeons and physicians and they've said I've just had an unlucky season in which I never got fully fit.
"I'm now going to enjoy a break, go on holiday and then get back to work when I come back.”
Staying in League Two and Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is aware that expectation levels will be huge on the south coast next season after their stunning end to 2008-09.
Howe took over at the helm in January and they showed promotion form to clear their 17-point deficit and avoid the drop with something to spare.
However, the youngest manager in the Football League knows that will bring with it extra pressures this season as the Cherries faithful and bookmakers alike will expect a repeat performance.
Howe said: "I know that people will say that we will be one of the favourites now for next season and that's a pressure we will have to deal with.
"We are not thinking about any targets and not going to say that we are going to do this, or going to do that because that's not the right way to do it.
"We are just going to go about our business and will be quietly confident in ourselves, but know it will be very difficult.”
