Boss John Coleman was delighted for Liverpool loanee Craig Lindfield to get the winning goal and boost Accrington's battle against the drop as they overcame Exeter 2-1.
The striker came to Stanley in January from the Anfield club and slotted home only his second goal to secure the win after John Miles had cancelled out Adam Stansfield`s opener for the visitors.
"He was outstanding and deserved his goal," said Coleman.
"You always want your strikers to score and he is a smashing kid.
"You could see how delighted all his team-mates were that he scored and hopefully he will go on and get some more now.
"For the first 20 minutes Exeter started all-guns blazing and I thought it was going to be a long afternoon but then, all credit to the lads for battling back and we played really well and scored two goals."
