Notts County's Meadow Lane has been given the all-clear by Nottingham City Council after fears were expressed over the safety of the ground earlier this month.

An inspection by the council on February 3 raised concerns but County have now recieved word from the Environmental Health department that the ground is fit to hold games.

Catrin Styles, Environmental Health Officer, said: "I would like to confirm that I have recieved satisfactory documentation from the Stadium Manager Greg Smith confirming the completion of inspections and remedial works."

County Chairman John Armstrong-Holmes added: "The vast majority [of concerns] have now been dealt with and in many instances, that was done prior to us receiving the report."

Holmes also revealed the club are set for talks with the council on Wednesday over the safety fears of persistent standing in the upper part of The Kop stand.
