Crewe have made a contract offer to trialist Danny Blanchett.

The left-back, 22, who was released by Peterborough at the end of last season, has featured in three pre-season friendlies for Alex including the 1-0 win over West Ham on Tuesday night.

"An offer has been put to Danny," said assistant boss Steve Davis. "In the games he has played he has looked quite assured and has a decent amount of pace, as well as a good left foot.

"We can only judge him on the games he has played for us, and he has done well and has not looked fazed.

"He also looks like he will get better with the physical work and the weights he will do here. I can see him getting stronger and better here.

"He is a good lad who listens and who I feel will improve as a player."
