Dagenham have completely transformed from last season where they scrapped against relegation and are currently second in the table but manager John Still insists there is an obvious reason why.

"We've now got a fit Paul Benson, a fit Sam Saunders and a fit Magnus (Okuonghae), and that's something we didn't have last season,” said the Daggers boss.

"The team at the moment are doing fine and I'm pleased with how everything is going."

Still also has Matt Ritchie on loan from Portsmouth and the 19-year-old is causing havoc as the Essex club sit in second place ahead of this mouth watering clash with Bury.

The Shakers were unbeaten until last week’s home defeat to Exeter saw them drop out of the automatic promotion places but striker Glynn Hurst insists that, like Dagenham & Redbridge, they can prove to be one of the surprise packages of the campaign.

"We've got a good set of players, a good manager, good backroom staff and I would just challenge our lads to get back into the top three again and stay in there," he said.

"I do genuinely believe that we are good enough, we are one of the better teams in the division and we have to just go out on the pitch, like we have been doing, and show everyone that.

"It's not about proving everybody wrong, it's about proving ourselves right."

CLARKY’S VERDICT: This one won’t be for the faint-hearted but Bury will suffer their second straight defeat as Dagenham continue to steamroller their way towards promotion.
