Rochdale manager Keith Hill has bolstered his striking options by snapping up Chris O'Grady from neighbours Oldham.

The striker has agreed a deal that will keep him at Spotland until January.

The 23-year-old joins Latics colleague Dale Stephens at Rochdale as Hill's men search for their second win of the campaign in Sunday's clash at his former club Rotherham.

O'Grady, who had loan stints at Bury, Bradford and Stockport last season, told the club's official website: "It has been a tough time for me because no player wants to sit watching matches on a Saturday, you want to be involved.

"I believe this is a move that will give me the opportunity to do just that and I am looking forward to it."
