Shrewsbury midfielder Craig Disley could be out for around eight weeks with a broken ankle.
Disley caught his ankle after going in for a challenge in the 1-1 draw at Rotherham on Monday night and X-ray results revealed he had suffered a break.
"It is a massive blow for Craig as he was just getting back into the side after a couple of other injuries," boss Paul Simpson told the club's official website. "We are booking him in to see a specialist and once we have the results from that we will know the long-term implications."
Simpson added: "The X-rays revealed a break to the ankle and the early prognosis is that Craig will be missing for around eight weeks but until the swelling has gone down we won't know for sure."Cansdell-Sherriff
Meanwhile, Shane Cansdell-Sherriff picked up his 10th booking of the season at the Don Valley Stadium and he now faces an automatic two-match ban.
Simpson said: "Shane picking up a 10th booking is another blow for us but we are lucky in that we have other players who can come into the squad."
