Marc Edworthy has left Burton after failing to agree an extended contract with the Football League newcomers.

The short-term deal that the veteran full-back signed in the summer expired last week.

Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido said: "Eddy is a brilliant lad and I wish him all the best, but we couldn't come to an agreement with him."

The 36-year-old made just two appearances during his stay at the Pirelli Stadium - in the 3-1 defeat at Shrewsbury on the opening day of the League Two campaign and in last week's 5-1 loss to Chesterfield in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
