Shrewsbury striker Nathan Elder has left the club after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

The 26-year-old, who suffered an eye socket and cheekbone fracture following an aerial collision with Rotherham's Pablo Mills in March 2009, did not appear for the Shrews last season following cruciate knee ligament surgery.

A club statement said: "The club would like to thank Nathan for all he has done during his time at Shrewsbury Town and wish him well for the future."
