Paul Peschisolido is delighted that medical reports have shown Jimmy Phillips will only miss a month of Burton Albion’s season.

A scan on the knee the winger hurt in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat of Barnet has not revealed long-term damage, which is a huge boost for the Brewers boss.

He told the Burton Mail: “No manager likes to have players out injured, especially when they’re playing as well as Jimmy (Phillips) has been doing, but this is brilliant news.

“I think we all feared the worst with the possibility of serious anterior ligament damage.

“There is some disruption to Jimmy’s knee, but it is nowhere near as bad as it might have been.

“The worst-case scenario was that he would be out for nine months, which effectively means he wouldn’t have played for us again this season.

“But we’ve got the best-case scenario of him being out of action for between two and four weeks - and I’m absolutely delighted for the lad.

“Losing someone playing as well as Jimmy has been doing is still a blow, but it’s nowhere serious as it might have been and we have the consolation of knowing we have people who can play in his position.”
