Manager Keith Hill is determined to keep striker Will Buckley at Rochdale this summer.

Buckley, who joined Dale after being released by Oldham, has attracted much speculation this summer after scoring 11 goals in his first full season as a professional.

But Hill is adamant the 18-year-old is integral to his plans.

The Rochdale manager told the Rochdale Observer: "It's all speculation right now, but what I would say is that I personally want to give myself the best possible chance of success as manager of Rochdale, and that means having Buckley on the team.

"As yet, we have not had any bids from other clubs for our players, but it's quiet right now. If the clubs are going to approach, I'd expect things to start happening in the last couple of weeks of July."
