Bournemouth goalkeeper Shwan Jalal has penned a new two-year contract at the club.

The 26-year-old, who has been an integral part of the Cherries' League Two promotion bid this term, was out of contract in the summer, but boss Eddie Howe has moved quickly to secure Jalal's services. Jalal joined the club in 2008 and is delighted to be staying at Dean Court.

"Eddie and the club told me they wanted me to stay and I was delighted and I can't say thank you enough for the board, Neill Blake and Eddie for sitting down and sorting it all out," he told the club's official site."

He added: "I'm pleased with my form and it's great that I have been rewarded with this."

Howe said: "Shwan has been a big part of our successful season so far and he has been very consistent. The way he has trained has been excellent."
