As far as Jamie Forrester’s concerned it's bit like waiting for a bus – you seem to wait forever for one to come and then three of them arrive at once! Despite boasting a fine goalscoring record throughout his career, the 32-year-old had not scored a hat-trick before the start of this season and then all of a sudden he fired THREE in the space of a month! Forrester, the leading scorer in League Two, has netted 12 times for the Imps already this term, helping the club to second place in the table. Forester's goalscoring exploits have not gone unnoticed by the fans either, after he was named PFA Fans' Player of the Month for October. Givemefootball's Mark Shail is the man armed with the questions. Who do you think will be in the hunt to join Jamie in the Fans' Player of the Month hall of fame? Q:CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR AWARD, YOU MUST BE DELIGHTED?
A:Yes, I'm very pleased but it's nice to be playing in a team that is creating a lot of chances. You don't win awards like these unless the team you are playing for is performing well and October was a particularly good month for me, but more importantly for the team.
Q:AND THREE HAT-TRICKS INSIDE A MONTH?
A:I know it's amazing. I had never scored a hat-trick before, although it was never something that was playing on my mind. Then all of sudden things just seemed to fall my way inside the box and I managed to put the chances away. I've never set myself targets in terms of goals but it's been a great start to the season for me.
Q:YOU MUST BE PLEASED WITH HOW YOU'VE SETTLED IN AT LINCOLN?
A:It's much easier to settle into a side quicker when the team is playing well. But the most important thing is that we keep our run going and try to win promotion. I know I'm not going to score hat-tricks very week but hopefully I can keep making a contribution.
Q:ARE YOU SURPRISED HOW WELL THINGS OF GONE FOR YOU AFTER A FRUSTRATING TIME AT BRISTOL ROVERS LAST SEASON?
A:Obviously I needed to move on from Rovers because things just weren't happening for me there and I wasn't getting much playing time. But these things happen in football and you have to move on and take on a new challenge. Things have just clicked for me here and I've been delighted with the start I've made and with the way the side has been playing.
Q:IS THERE MORE PRESSURE ON THE TEAM TO WIN MATCHES GIVEN LINCOLN'S LOFTY POSITION IN THE TABLE?
A:I suppose there is more pressure but this is the kind of pressure you want as a player. You want to be playing in important matches. I've spent enough time sitting on the bench over the last year so to be playing regularly and scoring goals for a team that is doing well is great.
Q:WERE YOU DISAPPOINTED WITH LAST WEEK'S DEFEAT AT PORT VALE?
A:Obviously you don't want to lose any game because winning becomes a habit. We played pretty well though and we will take some of the positives into this weekend's game against Darlington.
Q:WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THAT MATCH?
A:Every match in this league is tough and we're expecting nothing less than another difficult game. We were at the top of the league a couple of weeks ago and it would nice to think we can keep the pressure on the other teams around us by picking up another three points against Darlington.
