Burton Albion manager Paul Peschisolido is using his Birmingham City connections well after landing Robin Shroot on a season-long loan from St Andrew’s.
The Northern Ireland Under-21 international joined
Birmingham from non-league Harrow Borough in January, and spent a spell on loan with
Walsall last season.
"Robin will give us a variety of options," said
Burton boss Peschisolido.
"He can play as a wide man or as a front man or just behind the striker, and it is that variety that I have brought him in for.”
Rochdale
Meanwhile,
Rochdale boss Keith Hill has praised the fitness of his players after they returned to Spotland for the start of pre-season training.
The Lancashire outfit are aiming to win their first promotion since 1969 this coming season after falling at the final hurdle in the past two campaigns.
Hill's men lost to
Stockport in the 2008 League Two play-off final, and were defeated at the play-off semi-final stage against
Gillingham last term.
Hill is aiming to go one better this season and is delighted with his players’ attitude during the close season. He said: "We've taken the body fat per cent of the players and they're all absolutely superb.
"I think you've got to be fit for pre-season now. You have to give yourselves an edge individually and collectively. We've got a five-week period now before we play our first competitive league game. Everything else before that counts for nothing."
