Dagenham & Redbridge were satisfied with the transfer fee set for defender Magnus Okuonghae after a tribunal hearing in London.
The
Daggers will receive £45,000 as an initial fee from
Colchester, with a further £5,000 to be paid when the player has made 15, 30, 45 and 60 appearances.
There is also a 20 per cent sell-on clause for
Okuonghae along with a £15,000 payment if Colchester are promoted to the Championship in the next two seasons.
"We're reasonably pleased with the result of the tribunal and whilst we factored in a certain amount, it's a little bit more than that," Dagenham Chief Executive Steve Thompson told the Barking and Dagenham Post.
"Although there aren't any plans to put it towards improving the team, it will help the overall running of the club and the extra expenses we have this year.
"We weren't a million miles away from what Colchester offered, and the tribunal has really come down in our favour.
"We were realistic because it's not a transfer; it's to compensate us for his development, so the figures aren't huge.
"We're delighted it's over and done with now, so we can sit down and work out where we are from here."
Bury
Simon Johnson is itching to get his career back on track at
Bury and has thanked Alan Knill for giving him an opportunity.
The winger was released by
Hereford in April, but has been given a three-month deal by Knill to prove his worth and he intends to grasp the olive branch.
“I’m grateful to the manager for giving me a chance and three months is enough for me to show what I can do,” Johnson told the Bury Times.
“I’m capable of playing at this level and I think a fit and confident Simon Johnson can do very well.
“I can only look at myself as an individual and I have to affect games when I come on. I have to work as hard as I can and give the gaffer a bit of a dilemma.
“It’s going to be tough work getting into the team because there is a lot of quality in front of me, but all I can do is give 100 per cent.
“I have played at this level quite a bit and my level of consistency hasn’t been very good. That has been an issue with a lot of people and it has been down to my fitness.
“That’s what I am working hard on, and I am doing extra work after training to try and sort that out. I said from day one I need somebody like the gaffer to give me a kick up the backside. He mentioned to me that I have been in something of a comfort zone, and maybe I have been without actually realising it.
“I have held my hands up and admitted it and it’s all down to me to work hard and carry on. I was tipped for big things when I was younger, but it didn’t work out for me and I felt quite hard done by.
