Micky Adams is set to shuffle his Port Vale pack for tonight’s clash with Chesterfield after their weekend loss at Burton Albion.
It was the Valiants first defeat in seven games and left Adams holding all the cards with Chesterfield due in the Potteries tonight.

"I said to the players after the game that we go back to square one now," Port Vale’s manager told The Sentinel. "Generally, I try to stick with the lads who have done the business
“But all that happens when you lose a game of football it is your right and prerogative as manager to change the side as you see fit, so yes, there will be changes. These records have all got to be broken at some stage. We're disappointed, but we'll live to fight another day.
“There are 19 games left to go and we keep going. We've got an honest and hard-working bunch of players and we'll continue to do that."
Waite given second chance
Gareth Waite is desperate to ensure that Darlington stay in the Football League after being given a second chance with the Quakers. Waite was on target in their shock 2-0 win over Rotherham, which gives them renewed hope of avoiding the drop.
Waite only joined from Spennymoor Town last month but told The Northern Echo he won’t be giving up life in the Football League without one almighty fight.
“I’ve always wanted to be a professional footballer so this is my chance,” he said. “I used to be a self employed dry-liner, working on building sites plastering ceilings and walls. Work dried up because of the recession so I went labouring at ICI Wilton, working for my dad in there, but then this came up.
“I got laid off three weeks before Christmas so I wasn’t working at all when Darlington offered me a chance. I knew there were clubs watching me at Spennymoor so I just stuck at it and once I was asked to go on trial with Darlington I was delighted.
“I was here on trial last season but the manager, Dave Penney, didn’t want me. But the new gaffer here has given me a chance so I’m grateful. Once I got in the team I wanted to impress and make sure I kept my place.
“I’m glad it’s worked out but I’ve got to stick at it and hopefully we’ll get three points on Tuesday.’’
