Notts County manager Ian McParland has confirmed he is interested in signing Malta international Michael Mifsud.

The 28-year-old striker is a free agent having left Championship outfit Coventry at the end of last season.

Mifsud, who has been approached by a host of clubs in England, including Sheffield United, Leeds and Charlton, has reportedly turned down contract offers from Turkish side Ankaragucu and Greek outfit Larissa.

McParland has denied making an offer to Mifsud, who ended last season on loan at Barnsley.

"I know he's available and he would be a good addition to our squad, but let's wait and see," he told the Nottingham Evening Post.
