Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore was disappointed to see Rochdale run away with a 4-0 win after his side's promising start at Spotland.
Goals from Chris Dagnall, Craig Dawson and Chris O'Grady, along with an own goal from Jamie Green, ensured that Dale moved eight points clear at the top of League Two.
Moore said: "If you look at the four goals they scored they were all self-inflicted on our part and that's the annoying thing, because we played some good football at times, especially in the first half."
He added: "I was disappointed to come off one down at the break because I felt it was a really tight game and I thought it was going to be good contest.
"But we ended up defending too deep and allowing Chris O'Grady to take the ball into his feet far too often in the second half."Notts County
Notts County manager Steve Cotterill paid tribute to his defence after they kept a second successive clean sheet in the 1-0 win over struggling Macclesfield with a headed goal from Jamie Clapham the difference between the sides.
The former Burnley boss said: "It wasn't a classic but there were plenty of positives to take from it because it was a solid defensive performance. My defenders had to stand up and be counted, against a very physical Macclesfield side."Torquay & Dagenham
Torquay boss Paul Buckle remained upbeat after seeing his side claim a goalless draw against Dagenham and extend their unbeaten run to four matches.
Buckle said: "I told the lads at half-time to get hold of the ball and take the game to Dagenham because I felt that we were up against a well-established side and we worthy of our point, and could have taken all three.
"They did that and Lee Mansell came close to getting that win for us with a great shot that came off the bar. If it had gone in it would have been a great goal."
