New Peterborough striker Danny Mills has pledged to break into the first team after his surprise move from Crawley.

The 6ft 5in 18-year-old is keen to impress manager Darren Ferguson after moving to London Road and believes he can make his mark in the Championship.

"I never thought I would be penning a two-year contract at such a big club at this stage of my career," said Mills. "I am still very young and I have plenty of time on my side but I want to impress quickly."

He added: "A few people have compared my style to Peter Crouch and that is going to be the case because of my height but I am quick and like to run with the ball as well.

"The manager told me that age is just a number and if you are good enough you will be in the team and that is a massive incentive for me."
